eSIM-only iPhone 15 coming to more countries

As many of you know, Apple decided to release eSIM-only iPhone 14 lineup in the US. This was a rather controversial move, but it happened. Well, the company plans to expand that with the iPhone 15, as eSIM-only versions will be available in more countries.

eSIM-only iPhone 15 is coming to more countries, in addition to the US

Apple will continue offering eSIM-only iPhones in the US with the iPhone 15, of course. According to a new report, however, some countries in Europe will follow.

This report comes from iGeneration, a French outlet. The source cites industry sources and says: “iPhone 15 and 15 Pro could also be released without a physical SIM card in France”. The thing is, France likely won’t be the only country to get them.

Truth be said, eSIM has been on the rise across the world, and Europe has been one of the main growth markets for it. It’s safe to say that many countries are still not ready, but mainly because of users.

It remains to be seen how aggressive will Apple be with the rollout. France seems like a shoo-in at the moment, but we have a feeling other major markets will be involved as well.

Quite a few major European markets could be targeted by Apple

Many European countries use the same iPhones under the hood. So, if eSIM-only iPhone 15 models end up being available in France, Germany, Italy, and other countries may be included too.

As a reminder, the all-new iPhones will launch in September. They will all include Type-C ports, due to a new EU law, and all of them will also feature a Dynamic Island on the display.

Apple is rumored to limit the functionality of the Type-C port, though, which is not surprising at all. We’re once again expecting four models to launch, though the ‘Pro Max’ may launch under a different name.
