Galaxy M14 5G official with 6,000mAh battery & 5nm chipset

Samsung has added another budget model to its 2023 smartphone portfolio. The Galaxy M14 5G follows the Galaxy S23 flagships, Galaxy A14, Galaxy A14 5G, and Galaxy F04 as the company’s seventh smartphone of this year. It quietly debuted in Ukraine this week. The firm hasn’t yet announced its availability anywhere else.

Galaxy M14 5G specs and features

The Galaxy M14 5G appears to be a Galaxy A14 5G with a bigger battery. It shares all key specifications with the latter. The handset features a 6.6-inch LCD screen with a Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2408 pixels) and a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood is Samsung’s newly announced Exynos 1330 processor. It is the company’s first 5nm budget chipset with a maximum clock speed of 2.4GHz.

Samsung has paired the processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of onboard storage. The Galaxy M14 5G supports microSD cards of up to 1TB capacity. It has a dedicated slot for expandable storage, so you won’t have to share it with a SIM slot. You can still insert two nano SIM cards for sub-6GHz 5G connectivity. There’s no mmWave 5G support here, and that isn’t surprising.

For photos and videos, the Galaxy M14 5G includes a 50MP primary rear camera, 2MP macro camera, 2MP depth sensor, and a 13MP selfie shooter. The device can record FHD (1920 x 1080) videos at 30fps (frames per second) and supports 10X digital zoom. Don’t expect premium features like OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), optical zoom, or 4K video recording, though.

This phone packs a massive 6,000mAh battery. That’s the only notable difference over the Galaxy A14 5G, which has a 5,000mAh battery. Samsung isn’t going over 15W of charging speed, though. Other highlights of the Galaxy M14 5G include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Android 13, a USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, and support for GPS, Beidou, Galileo, NavIC, and QZSS navigation systems. Unsurprisingly, the body is made of plastic. Glass and metal bodies aren’t usually seen on budget handsets.

Price and availability

As said earlier, Samsung has quietly launched the Galaxy M14 5G in Ukraine. The budget handset is priced at UAH 8,299 (approx. $225) for the 64GB model and UAH 8,999 (approx. $240) for the 128GB model in the country. Both options are available in blue, dark blue, and silver colors. Early buyers are eligible for an extended warranty through the Samsung Experience Store. The company hasn’t said a word about this phone’s availability in other markets, at least not yet.
