It’s Mario Day, and to celebrate Nintendo is releasing a special Switch console bundle that comes with a free Switch game! If that sounds like a pretty sweet deal to you then you can snag the console for $299 over at Amazon.
The bundle is called the Mario Choose One bundle and it comes with two red Joy Con controllers to go with the theme. Not just any red though, they’re Mario Red. Of course, the bundle also includes the system, and the Switch Dock. You’ll also get your choice of three different Mario titles, of which you can select one to download for free.
This includes Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. All are great games, but we’d suggest Super Mario Odyssey here. Or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe if you want something to play with friends.
The Mario Day Nintendo Switch bundle is not the OLED model
This is probably obvious given the price point. But we wanted to make sure it was clear anyway. This bundle includes the standard Switch model and not the OLED. Still, it’s a decent deal since you’re getting one free game and some non-standard controller colors. The Mario Red Joy Cons don’t normally come with the console. So these make kind of a cool collector item.
The other thing to keep in mind is that the Switch rarely gets discounts. Nintendo is not one to usually drop the price of its hardware or games. So while this is the normal price for a Switch, the free game offsets that price, and anyone wanting a Switch should definitely go for this bundle. Because free games are free games.
