Verizon is offering a "no-strings-attached" 30-day free trial

Verizon is luring customers away from its competitors with an attractive “no-strings-attached” free trial promotion. It is giving unlimited free access to its 5G Ultra Wideband, 5G Nationwide, and 4G LTE networks for 30 days to anyone who is not already a Verizon customer. “No costs, no catches, and no credit card required,” the company says. Your existing phone service will not be affected, nor do you have any contractual obligation to commit to Verizon once the free trial ends. All you need is an unlocked eSIM-enabled smartphone, with the eSIM slot unoccupied. Here’s how it all works.

How to sign up for Verizon’s 30-day 5G Ultra Wideband free trial

If you’re mulling switching to Verizon but not sure if it will work out as expected, this might be your best opportunity to find out. You can try the network while remaining on your current carrier, at no additional cost. To get started (given your phone has a vacant eSIM slot), download the My Verizon app (link below). Open the app and you should see a banner for this promotion on the top of the home page. Click on the “Start Free Trial” button and follow the on-screen prompts. You’ll need to provide your name and contact information.

Once you’ve done this, Verizon will assign you a temporary phone number for your eSIM. The verification and setup process may take a while. After that, you need to go to Settings > Connections > SIM Card Manager (this menu may vary depending on your phone’s make and model) and enable your Verizon eSIM. That’s it. You now have unlimited free access to Verizon’s network for 30 days. If you find the service worth making permanent, you can port your current phone number after a month or anytime during the free trial. If not, you’re free to walk away any day.

As part of this free trial, you’ll get unlimited talk, text, and data on Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband, 5G Nationwide, and 4G LTE networks. You also get up to 100GB of 4G/5G data with its premium network experience. When 5G Ultra Wideband is available, you can stream content in 4K quality. Streaming resolution is capped at 480p on 4G LTE and 5G Nationwide networks. All of this with no contractual commitment or cost.
