Vivo's Galaxy Z Fold 5 competitor could launch in April

Vivo’s new Galaxy Z Fold 5 competitor could launch next month, in April. We are, of course, talking about the Vivo X Fold 2 here. The phone will first launch in China, and it remains to be seen if it will arrive to more markets. Its predecessors did not.

Vivo’s Galaxy Z Fold 5 competitor will seemingly launch next month

Vivo started teasing the Vivo X Fold 2 in China. The company confirmed the phone’s name. Vivo also teased three new announcements for next month. Considering the timing here, the Vivo X Fold 2 will almost certainly be one of them.

The company’s teaser says that the phone will offer flagship specifications. Vivo also teased the phone’s display without mentioning specific info. It said that the Vivo X Fold 2 will have the most powerful folding screen they ever released.

Now, the Vivo X Fold 2 is expected to be thinner than its predecessors, and also lighter. The Vivo X Fold and X Fold+ launched thus far, and the Vivo X Fold 2 is the real second-gen product in this timeline.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will fuel the device, while Android 13 will come pre-installed

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC is expected to fuel the phone. The device is expected to offer at least 12GB of RAM, though Vivo could go as high as 16GB. You can also expect 256GB of storage to be included.

Android 13 will come pre-installed on the phone, along with the company’s OriginOS for China. A 50-megapixel main camera is tipped, along with a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 12-megapixel telephoto shooter.

A 4,800mAh battery was also mentioned earlier, as was 120W fast wired charging. Vivo will also include a charger in the box, so you don’t have to worry about that.

That’s basically all the info we have thus far. This handset will, of course, be a book-style foldable, as it’s expected to rival the Galaxy Z Fold 4, and the Fold 5 once it launches.
