The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series hits Switch and PS4 soon

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series is finally hitting Nintendo Switch and PS4 consoles soon. And because it’s coming to PS4 that’s means you’ll see the games on PS5 too.

Square Enix announced the console version of the Pixel Remaster series games back in December of last year. It’s only been a few months since then, but that can be a long time to wait for eager fans. Especially if you’ve been waiting to pick up the console versions since the PC and mobile remasters were launched nearly two years ago. Well, the wait is nearly over. Square Enix has announced that the games will launch on April 19. The series includes Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, and Final Fantasy VI.

All six titles have been remastered with new 2D pixel graphics that should look excellent on HD displays. Like on a Switch OLED for example. Additionally, players can switch between the original soundtrack and the new rearranged soundtrack. The console versions also let players swap between the default font and a new pixel-based font that’s meant to “recreate the original gameplay experience.”

You can pre-order the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series for Switch

While it looks like you’ll have to wait until the launch date to get these games on PS4 or PS5, you can pre-order them on the Switch right now. Should you be so inclined to do so. All six games will be available in a bundle for $74.99. But you can grab them individually as well if you don’t want to play them all.

The first two games can be picked up for $11.99, while the remaining four will be $17.99. The individual and bundle versions will be available for PlayStation as well. Square Enix also plans to release physical versions of the console games.
