The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will feature a folder-shaped cover display. That info was shared not so long ago, via a sketch of a phone. It has now been confirmed by a well-known tipster, Ice Universe.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 will feature a folder-shaped cover display, a tipster confirms
The tipster went to Twitter to share the news, while adding that this is a “100% confirmation”. He also shared an image of the phone. Do note that this is not a leak, though, but a visual representation of what we can expect.
You can clearly see the phone’s cover display here. It’s shaped this way because of the phone’s rear cameras. Samsung obviously didn’t want those cameras to be in the display itself, which is, aesthetically, a good call.
This will represent a major change compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 4, at least when you look at its back side. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 includes a 1.9-inch display, which is rather tiny in comparison.
Motorola’s upcoming foldable handset will have a slightly larger cover panel
So, what size will this display be exactly? That info has also been confirmed, we’ll get a 3.4-inch panel here. The Motorola Razr+ 2023 aka Motorola Razr Pro will offer a 3.5-inch cover display, by the way.
The front side of the phone will look rather similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The phone will fold flat, and it will feature rather thin bezels on the main display. It’s also expected to offer water and dust resistance.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 will launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 5 later this year. It’s coming in July or August, depending on which rumor you end up believing. Regardless, it’ll launch during Samsung’s second Galaxy Unpacked event of the year. The Galaxy Tab S9 series will also arrive during that event, and the same goes for the Galaxy Watch 6 (series).
