Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event could take place in South Korea

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event could take place in South Korea. According to a Korean publication, Samsung is trying to decide between two locations, but South Korea is its preference.

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z series Galaxy Unpacked event could take place in South Korea

The president of Samsung Electronics’ MX division, TM Roh, wants to host the event in Busan, South Korea. It is worth noting that New York is also in play, though, nothing is set in stone just yet.

Previous Galaxy Unpacked events took place in New York, Barcelona, and so on. Busan does come as a surprise, but it’s not exactly odd, as that’s Samsung’s homeland. And yes, this is a global event we’re talking about.

It is said that Samsung is considering this move to support Korea’s bid for the ‘Busan Expo’. In any case, this event is tipped to take place earlier this year, in July, not August. We’re not sure if that’ll end up happening, though.

This will be the company’s second Galaxy Unpacked event of the year. During the first one, the Galaxy S23 series arrived. This upcoming event will bring us plenty of new devices to check out.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 & Flip 5 will headline the event

That event will be headlined by two foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. The Galaxy Watch 6 is also expected to make an appearance, though, and the same goes for the Galaxy Tab S9 series.

So, as you can see, it will be a packed event. All of those devices will become available globally, of course. Samsung is getting more and more competition in the foldable smartphone market, so it will be interesting to see how it plans to counter the pressure.

Google will also announce its very first foldable smartphone next month, the Pixel Fold. That device is expected to compete directly with the Galaxy Z Fold 5, by the way. That launch could also be the reason why Samsung is considering announcing its foldables a bit sooner than expected.
