The Vivo X Fold 2 and X Flip launch date has been officially confirmed by the company. Vivo went to Weibo to confirm that both phones will become official on April 20. They will launch in China, and the event will start at 7 PM China time / 1 PM CET / noon BST / 7 AM EST / 4 AM PST.
The Vivo X Fold 2 & X Flip launch date has been confirmed by the company
That being said the Vivo X Fold and X Fold+ did not launch outside of China. We do hope that things will be different with these two phones. The Vivo X Flip will become the company’s first clamshell foldable phone, by the way.
The Vivo X Fold 2 is expected to be a refined version of its predecessors, and considerably lighter too. The previous two book-style foldables from Vivo were quite hefty, even by foldable standards.
The Vivo X Flip will feature a rather sizeable display on the outside, seemingly comparable to the one on the Motorola Razr 2022. You can check out both phones in the image provided above.
Both of these devices did leak separately not long ago. The Vivo X Fold 2 appeared in real-life images (from a hands-on video), while the VIvo X Flip surfaced in seemingly-official images, featuring a well-known Chinese actress.
We also know what specs to expect
The company’s executive did confirm some specs of the Vivo X Flip. We do know that it will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. The phone will also include a 50-megapixel main camera, with OIS support. A 32-megapixel camera will sit on the main display (display camera hole).
On the other hand, the Vivo X Fold 2 will be even more powerful. It will include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. On top of that, it will support 120W charging. An 8.03-inch main display will be included, along with a 6.53-inch cover panel. Both of those displays will offer a 120Hz refresh rate, and those are Samsung’s E6 AMOLED panels.
All in all, they’ll have plenty to offer, let’s just hope they’ll be made available outside of Vivo’s homeland. The more competition in global markets, the better.
