Galaxy Z Fold 5 & Flip 5 tipped to launch on July 26

According to a report from Korea, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 will launch on July 26. We’ve seen several rumors pointing to a July launch date, and it seems like those rumors were accurate.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 & Flip 5 will seemingly launch on July 26

This info comes from the Chosun publication, as it’s said that the phones will launch in Seoul, Korea. This will be a global launch event, though, but Samsung seemingly chose its home country to host the event this time around.

This event will also be known as the second Unpacked event of the year. As many of you know, Samsung usually hosts its second Unpacked event in August. So, this year, the company decided to do it a bit earlier.

The exact reason behind that is still unknown. We did see some reports claiming that the Pixel Fold is the reason why, though. Google’s first foldable smartphone got announced during Google I/O, and it will go on sale at the end of next month. Samsung wants to jump the gun and directly compete with it.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 won’t be the only devices that Samsung will launch during this event, but they’ll most definitely be the focus of it. The company is expected to bring some design improvements to both phones, as a response to some other OEMs out there.

These will be high-end offerings from Samsung

Both of these phones will be high-end offerings from Samsung. They’re expected to offer a better hinge this time around, a hinge that will allow them to fold flat. They’ll once again offer water and dust resistance, it’s rumored.

Both devices are said to offer high-end specifications, and the Flip 5 will even have a much larger cover display than its predecessor. The overall size and form factor won’t really change much, that goes for both devices.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy SoC is tipped to fuel both devices. They’ll be made out of metal and glass, and ship with Android 13 out of the box.
