The iPhone 15 models are not even out yet, and we’re getting iPhone 16 series info. This particular report is related to the iPhone 16 Pro series, and it claims that both phones will feature larger displays and periscope cameras.
The iPhone 16 Pro series tipped to utilize larger displays & periscope cameras
This particular report comes from Min-Chi Kuo, a well-known Apple tipster. He says that the iPhone 16 Pro will feature a 6.3-inch panel, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will arrive with a 6.9-inch display. So, they’ll be 0.2 inches bigger than the displays on current-gen phones (iPhone 14 Pro series).
Ross Young hinted at a similar change earlier this month. He said that display sizes for the two phones will be between 6.2 and 6.3 inches for the ‘Pro’, and between 6.8 and 6.9 inches for the ‘Pro Max’.
Now, regarding the cameras. Both smartphones will include periscope lenses, and the larger footprints will probably help Apple do that. Both smartphones are expected to offer up to 5-6x optical zoom, supplied by Cowell E Holdings.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to become the very first iPhone to utilize a periscope camera
The periscope camera won’t be a novelty for the iPhone 16 Pro Max, actually. The iPhone 15 Pro Max is also expected to offer it, though the smaller ‘Pro’ model is not. We’ll see how accurate that info is, though.
It was also initially reported that the iPhone 16 Pro Max could include an under-display Face ID setup, but a more recent roadmap claims otherwise. It seems like we’ll have to wait for the iPhone 17 Pro series for that.
This year’s iPhone 15 models will all feature a Dynamic Island. They’ll also include Type-C ports at the bottom. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are said to feature thinner bezels, and a frame made out of titanium.
