Leaked Galaxy Watch 6 Classic renders confirm rotating bezel

Samsung‘s next big hardware launch event is approaching fast. The company is readying new foldables, flagship tablets, and smartwatches for the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked, which may take place in late July. We have already seen its next-gen foldables and tablets in leaked renders. Today, we have our first look at the new smartwatches. Reliable leakster Steve H. McFly, aka OnLeaks, has shared high-resolution renders of the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, revealing its design.

The 3D CAD renders published via MySmartPrice confirm what we have been expecting all along, that the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will look similar to the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. That’s largely due to the presence of a physical rotating bezel. Samsung didn’t include the bezel ring on any Galaxy Watch 5 model last year. But the iconic controller is back this year on the Classic model. We don’t yet have renders of the vanilla Galaxy Watch 6, but it certainly won’t feature a physical bezel.

Aside from the bezel ring, the Galaxy Watch 6 features two physical buttons on the right. The renders show the watch in its black avatar. It gets a metallic case with a silicone band featuring a magnetic clasp. Samsung has added the usual set of sensors on the backside. Last year’s Galaxy Watch 5 series debuted an infrared-based temperature sensor.

The company will probably include it in the upcoming watches as well. We are also expecting heart rate, PPG (Photoplethysmography), ECG (electrocardiogram), and more health sensors.

Galaxy Watch 6 Classic rumored specs

Previous leaks have revealed that the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (46mm) will feature a 1.47-inch Super AMOLED display with a 480 x 480 pixels resolution. The 42mm variant will get a 1.31-inch display with a resolution of 432 x 432 pixels.

The Galaxy Watch 6, which will come in 44mm and 40mm sizes, will also get 1.47-inch and 1.31-inch displays, respectively. All four models should be powered by Samsung’s new Exynos W980 chipset. The company has made using its improved 5nm fabrication process, so we should be in for a performance boost.

Moreover, the Galaxy Watch 6 series will debut with Wear OS 4. The latest version of Google’s watch platform, which Samsung helped in the development, should bring new features and functional improvements. The Korean firm recently said that it’s working on new features that use the temperature sensor present in its smartwatches.

So the Galaxy Watch 6 may have a lot to offer when it comes to health and fitness. Stay tuned for more details, and the official confirmation about the Galaxy Unpacked schedule.
