The Google Home app for Wear OS has a colorful new feature, literally, as you can now use it to quickly change the color of your smart lights. Assuming you have some that connect to the Google Home ecosystem and have RGB.
It’s a pretty neat little way to initiate this functionality of your smart lights and, rather efficient. As it should be quicker than launching the app on your phone. The new color change feature for Google Home on Wear OS is part of a wider refresh to the app.
Google officially made the announcement about these and other changes during Google I/O. But it reiterated some of its favorite highlights” in a post on May 15 on the Nest Community Blog. In that post it goes over a handful of different new features coming to the app.
Google Home for Wear OS will change the color of your lights and more
Changing the color of your lights from your wrist is but one of the few new features coming to the Wear OS version of the app.
In addition to this feature, users will also be able to use the app to turn the lights on and off. As well as adjust the brightness if things need more light or a little less. Google is also adding the ability to get notifications with preview images from Nest cameras and doorbells, and control your thermostat. There appears to be more features as well, although Google doesn’t go over all of them.
The app is supposed to be rolling out to all users over the coming weeks. As pointed out by Android Police however, some users already have access to it. On top of these new feature changes, Google is also going to be changing the look of the app as part of the update.
