Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR will let you take on the role of your favorite assassins from the franchise, and the game will launch this holiday, Ubisoft confirms.
The publisher shared the release timing for the game during its Ubisoft Forward Live event on June 12. In a trailer published on the Ubisoft YouTube channel, gamers get a good a look at what the game might feel like when playing it. And in the video’s description it says “coming Holiday 2023.”
There’s no exact date here but this could be anytime around Thanksgiving or Christmas. Which really is the perfect timing as there will surely be people getting VR headsets for gifts for the holidays. Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR will come exclusively to the Meta Quest platform. And it’ll be playable on both Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3.
Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR will launch with three characters
While there are plenty of games in the series, and numerous main characters, Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR will launch with just three. You can play as Ezio, Conor, and Kassandra, from Assassin’s Creed 2, 3, and Odyssey.
The game will have an all-new story for you to dive into, centered around stopping Abstergo Industries from using “powerful artifacts to manipulate people’s beliefs.” You’ll be able to parkour everywhere Ubisoft says. While using real-world motions to do things like block, parry, counterattack, and duel.
There are even “comfort settings” baked in that are designed to help alleviate nausea, vertigo, and fear of heights the publisher says. You can already wishlist the game on Meta Quest but there isn’t a price for it currently. Chances are Ubisoft will share that information closer to the game’s release later this year. As a big game from a triple A studio though, it’ll probably be more than $20 or $30. So players should be prepared to spend at least that much when this comes out.
