The At a Glance function has been core to the Google Pixel phone experience, and now Google wants to bring it to an even smaller device. According to 9To5Google, Google has brought the At a Glance function to the Pixel Watch. This is a great way to quickly view information on your wrist.
The Google Pixel Watch launched several months ago, and it’s proven to be one of the best Wear OS smartwatches on the market. Android Headlines have the opportunity to review this device, and we gave it a high marking. You can read the review here, and you can order one here.
At a Glance finally lands on the Pixel Watch
Smartwatches are already a great way to quickly view information on your wrist. You can check up on the time, your health information, your notifications, and much more by simply lifting your arm. However, the At a Glance function will let you view even more information.
You can assign the At a Glance complication, but it’s only available in the Modular II and Modular III layouts. This means that it will be either in the middle of the screen or at the bottom.
What’s unique is that the At a Glance function is actually powered by the Google Assistant app on the watch. So, when you assign the complication, you have to grant the assistant access to your data. However, when you tap on the actual At a Glance complication, it will not initiate an assistant search. It will take you to the weather app.
For the time being, we’re not sure how much functionality Google has added to this complication. Ostensibly, it will provide you with all of the same information that we see on the Android widget. However, for the time being, it doesn’t seem to be showing everything. Hopefully, the company brings additional functionality at a later date.
This is a very useful tool to have if you want to get as much information at a glance as you can. You’ll be able to see items like the weather, upcoming events, etc.
