HONOR announced two of its new smartphones in China at the end of last month. The devices in question are the HONOR 90 and HONOR 90 Pro. We knew that they were coming to markets outside of HONOR’s homeland, but we did not know when, until now. The HONOR 90 series global launch is scheduled for July 6, and it’ll happen in Paris, France.
The global HONOR 90 series launch event is now official
The event will start at 3 PM CET, which translates to 9 AM EST / 6 AM PST / 2 PM BST. The event will be hosted in Pavillon Gabriel, for those of you wondering.
Considering that both smartphones launched already, there’s not much left to hide. The only question is what RAM and storage combos will be available globally, and what price tag can we expect.
The design and the specs will be basically the same. The global units will, however, include a global version of HONOR’s software, of course. That is the most notable change between versions for China, and the ones for global markets.
The two phones will look slightly different
The two phones will look very similar, but their rear camera islands will have different shape. That will be the main differentiator between the two phones, as far as the design is concerned. The HONOR 90 includes circular camera islands, while the ‘Pro’ model has hexagonal ones.
Considering that the specs will be the same as on Chinese models, those are not exactly a secret. The global HONOR 90 Pro will feature a 6.78-inch 2800 x 1224 OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will have extremely high PWM Dimming tech too.
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 will fuel the phone, while a 200-megapixel main camera will sit on the back. A 12-megapixel ultrawide camera will also be included, and a 32-megapixel telephoto unit.
The HONOR 90 Pro will support 100W wired charging, while you’ll get 66W charging on the HONOR 90
This handset will also pack in a 5,000mAh battery, and 100W wired charging will be supported. The phone will ship with Android 13, with HONOR’s MagicOS skin on top of it.
The HONOR 90, on the other hand, will have a 6.7-inch 2664 x 1200 OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will also have extremely high PWM Dimming tech.
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will fuel this smartphone, while the same 200-megapixel main camera will be used on the back. A 12-megapixel ultrawide unit will sit back there too, and a 2-megapixel depth-of-field unit.
This phone will also include a 5,000mAh battery, with 66W wired charging support. The same software will come pre-installed.
