Harry Potter: Magic Awakened launches its first trailer

While the main movie franchise ended over a decade ago, people are still keeping the spirit of Harry Potter alive via games. The long-awaited Harry Potter: Magic Awakened just dropped its first trailer. It shows us an interesting and stylized game with familiar gameplay mechanics.

This game was first introduced over a year ago. Back then, all we had to go on was a few details from Warner Bros. and a poster. Now, this game will launch very soon.

Harry Potter: Magic Awakened launches its first trailer

This is a pretty lengthy trailer, as it does go into some of the gameplay mechanics and shows off some cinematics. As you can imagine, this game takes place in Hogwarts, and you’ll be playing as a first-year student attending it. While you play, you’ll be able to travel throughout the grounds and complete different tasks and battles to level up your character.

This is a card-collecting game. The different spells that you cast during your battles will be represented as cards. While you play, you’ll have a pool of mana, and each card will use a certain amount of that mana. It’s the same kind of system we saw with games like Clash Royale.

So, as you can imagine, a lot of the time (and maybe some of the money) you spend while playing this game will be dedicated to collecting more cards. The game boasts more than 70 cards that you can collect. Don’t be surprised if more come out as time goes on.

Along with battles, you’ll be able to perform other tasks like attending classes, competing in Quidditch matches, going to school functions, etc. It might be a watered-down version of Hogwarts Legacy. Magic Awakened and Hogwarts Legacy share the same developer, so that should come as no surprise.

One neat thing about this game is that you’ll be able to relive the original Harry Potter storyline from the books/movies. You’ll be able to play as the characters from those stories and play through the story that made the Wizarding World popular.

Harry Potter: Magic Awakened will officially launch for iOS and Android on June 27th. That’s only a week away at the time of this writing. So, there’s not much time to wait.
