Razer gives gamers the tools they need to perform their best in games, and you can now add a ‘Rapid Trigger Mode’ to the list of features its accessories offer to players.
This new mode, which is being added to a small collection of gaming keyboards, is aimed squarely at those who want lightning fast actuation for their game inputs. The way this feature works, in a super basic explanation, is that it lets you get in many more keystrokes per key than usual.
In a more detailed breakdown, Rapid Trigger Mode removes the reset point for each switch. This lets the key register a new keystroke the instant the keyboard recognizes that the switch is travelling back upwards. As opposed to once it surpasses that reset point. Which in turn leads to a lot more keystrokes if you can press the keys fast enough. All-in-all, a solid enhancement for anyone who likes to take advantage of any possible competitive edge they’re given. Well, if that’s you, Razer is giving you a new competitive edge with Rapid Trigger Mode. There is catch though.
Razer is only bringing Rapid Trigger Mode to two gaming keyboards
This is probably a big caveat and might be a deal breaker for some. It all depends on what you like for your keyboards. The catch, is that Rapid Trigger Mode is only coming to two keyboards. The Huntsman V2 Analog and the Huntsman Mini Analog.
If you don’t use either of those keyboards, then unfortunately this feature is of no use to you. But it might be worth considering grabbing one of these. If you already have one of these keyboards, the feature is rolling out in an update to the Synapse software that starts today. However, Razer says the update is rolling out gradually. More specifically, the update should hit everyone by June 13 according to the company.
This feature is free and fairly easy to use. Once the update kicks in, you can adjust the sensitivity and the upstroke within the Synapse software.
