As you may know, Twitter gives Twitter Blue users the ability to edit their tweets. While non-paying users are still waiting for that ability, those paying the $8/month just got a bit of a pleasant surprise. According to Phone Arena, users now have longer to edit their tweets.
If you’re a Twitter Blue user, and you make an “oopsie” while trying to post a tweet, you have up to 30 minutes to fix that mistake. You will see a little button on the top right of your Tweet that will let you edit what you wrote and repost it.
Instead of editing the original tweet, it will basically create a new tweet and paste your original tweet’s text into it. You’ll be able to edit that text and repost the tweet. However, the original tweet will still be available and linked in your edited tweet. So, people will still be able to see what you originally wrote.
Twitter Blue users half longer to edit their tweets
As stated, Twitter Blue users have the ability to edit their tweets up to 30 minutes after posting them. However, several months ago, the original rumor had it that they would have up to an hour to do so.
Well, now that’s a reality. Twitter officially announced that Blue users now have up to a full hour to edit their tweets. This is a great addition to the company’s policy because we can bet that there are a lot of people who often just miss the 30-minute window. A lot of the time, we don’t catch the mistakes in our tweets until long after we’ve pressed the Tweet button.
At this point, we still don’t know exactly when Twitter plans to trickle this feature down to non-paying users. That was originally the plan when this was announced last year. We will have to wait and see when it finally happens.
