These days, modern games that look like Armored Core VI are expected to have PC requirements that appear to reach for the stars. That is, a list of PC specs that are typically on the higher end of recommendations from the game’s development studio. But that isn’t the case for Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon.
On the contrary. The game‘s system requirements are, quite frankly, pretty minimal. On August 14 Bandai Namco published the official PC system requirements for the upcoming game, which you can see below. Both with and without ray tracing enabled. And there are probably going to be lots of surprised players out there. Now, Ray Tracing is only going to be available in the garage. As denoted by Bandai Namco’s post. So the requirements could have been a little different if it were available across the entire game.
It only being available in the garage should work out just fine though. Because you’ll be spending a lot of time in there customizing your mechs. So it might as well look good.
Armored Core VI PC requirements may change in the future
You always want to read the fine print for just about anything. Even if it doesn’t matter for everything, it’s a good habit to have. That being said, the fine print on Bandai Namco’s post states that the minimum and recommended specs for Armored Core VI are valid for launch day. But that they could change in the future. However, it’s likely that this is just something Bandai Namco is putting down in writing just in case. Even if there are no plans for the minimum and recommended specs to change.
And even if they do, the bar has been set pretty low to begin with. With Ray Tracing on, the recommended specs are a GeForce RTX 2070 8GB or an AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT 8GB GPU, 12GB of RAM, and an Intel Core i7-7700 or an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X CPU. Not exactly bleeding edge hardware. As the RTX 2070 is a five-year old graphics card and the Intel Core i7-7700 CPU is six years old. In short, this is very good news for PC players planning to pick the game up. Which by the way, releases next Friday.
