Assassin’s Creed Mirage was officially set to release on October 12, but Ubisoft is pushing up that launch date. This morning the official Assassin’s Creed X account revealed that the game has gone gold, and in a rather uncommon move, has decided to launch the game a week earlier than planned.
“Assassin’s Creed Mirage has gone gold and is coming out a week early! On behalf of the entire team, we can’t wait for you to explore 9th Century Baghdad with Basim,” Ubisoft says. What does that mean for gamers itching to dive in? It means Assassin’s Creed Mirage will now release on October 5. This isn’t the first time something like this has happened, of course. But it’s rare that games will end up getting an early launch instead of a delay.
So it’s surely a nice surprise for anyone who is looking forward to this game.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is locked for release
For anyone who wasn’t aware, this is basically what gone gold means. Now that Assassin’s Creed Mirage has gone gold, the release will forge ahead as planned, just earlier than normal. As mentioned earlier this is a less common thing and if there are any changes happening to game launches, it tends to be a delay.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be a full-fledged AC game but Ubisoft has confirmed that it will be going back to its roots with this one. A common complaint with more recent titles like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is that the game is too big. There’s too much to explore and too many RPG elements. Ubisoft says Mirage will be closer to older titles in the series, so it should be more like Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood, and other titles from around that time in the franchise.
An early release will be great for fans who want to play as early as possible. But it also means that now there’s less time between the launch of other big titles and AC Mirage. With Starfield coming on September 5 and Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty coming exactly 21 days later. So you’ll only have 9 days to complete the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion if you want to be free and clear for AC Mirage on the 5th. A tall order, but not impossible.
