Baldur's Gate 3 speedrun player beats the game in 10 minutes

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a notoriously long game that can take upwards of 75-100 hours to beat on average, but a speedrun player has managed to get to the game’s end credits and technically beat it in just over 10 minutes.

It’s worth mentioning that the 75-100 hours of play time is based on a slightly more casual run. But that time could easily be two times that if you’re trying to achieve everything the game lets you do. This puts a 10-minute speedrun more in perspective. While also making the game hilariously uneventful. According to PC Gamer, speedrunner Mae achieved this as an any% speedrun which means all Mae had to do was reach the end. Which they did in exactly 10 minutes and 3 seconds.

Although this isn’t the way most people are going to enjoy the game, it’s comical that Larian Studios designed it in such a way that this was possible. And it just goes to show that Larian really tried to think of everything in terms of letting you play the game how you want to.

How Mae beat Baldur’s Gate 3 in a 10-minute speedrun

Firstly, it’s important to note that there are some minor spoilers involved in this method. We won’t be explaining them here. But it’s something you’ll want to know should you decide to watch Mae’s video.

Without getting into the details too much, the speedrun involves quickly getting to Act 2, and then having a specific person in your party (or playing them) by the end of it to get an optional ending. There’s a lot more to it than that but you can decide if you want to know more. And if you do, the video shows you the whole thing. And since it’s only just over 10 minutes long it doesn’t take up a bunch of your time.

If you’ve already beaten Baldur’s Gate 3 or if you’ve passed Act 2 at this point, check out Mae’s run. And if you haven’t played Baldur’s Gate 3 yet, it’s now available on PC out of early access as of earlier this month. It also arrives on PS5 in September.
