Modern Warfare III will be a full price $70 game

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will be a full price game costing $70, Activision has confirmed. The publisher confirmed the pricing details to CharlieIntel, stating that “Modern Warfare III is a premium release, and it will be priced accordingly at $70 USD.”

Although the price for Modern Warfare III hasn’t been confirmed before now, it shouldn’t be too surprising. Activision has been clear multiple times that this year’s Call of Duty game would be a full game. Not an expansion or DLC for Modern Warfare II as was originally planned. And a premium release wouldn’t cost anything other than what most premium releases cost these days for a AAA game title. That being said, there may have been some who thought it was possible Activision would allow them to upgrade. Seeing as this was a direct follow up to last year’s game. And that’s something they’ve never really done without taking a break at least one year in between releases within the same series.

However, there is no upgrade price. It’ll be $70 and that should be the price across the board for all platforms. As that’s the case for Modern Warfare II currently.

$70 will be the price for the standard edition of Modern Warfare III

If you thought $70 was expensive for a full price game, keep in mind this is just the cost for the standard edition. Artwork for the Vault Edition has already been leaked so a Vault Edition does appear to be coming. And this will no doubt be the version that many players go for. This would probably cost $99.99, an extra $30 for all of the additional stuff that comes with it.

Which, is likely to be early access to the campaign just as with Modern Warfare II. As well as some Call of Duty points and battle pass tokens. What doesn’t seem to be clear yet is if the vault edition will contain another weapon vault. This is something Activision did for the first time with Modern Warfare II in 2022. But it was expected that there would be numerous weapon vaults created throughout the year. And there has only ever been the one.

Activision will make a full reveal of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III on August 17, which is in just a few days from now.
