Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis gets a release date

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis has an official release date now, and it’s closer than you think. After months of keeping Final Fantasy fans on the edge of their seats, Square Enix tossed out a morsel of content in the form of the closed beta test. It was just enough to sate the hunger of anyone interested in this game and keep them wanting more. And it worked. But the closed beta test came and went, and fans were once again left wanting. Left wondering when they would be reunited with this new mobile title that so lovingly recreated the story of Final Fantasy VII.

That time is just around the corner. Because Square Enix officially confirmed on August 9 that the game is going to launch in September.

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis will release on September 7

We’re a little under a month out from the official launch as the game will drop on September 7. It’s launching for Android and iOS on the same day too. If you were part of the CBT and still have the game installed, you may just be able to update the game once the launch version goes live. And that may save you some download time.

For those unaware of the game, Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is a mobile game set in the universe of Final Fantasy VII. It blends the stories of multiple games into one title and even has some new stories to tell. It also offers both retro style graphics for normal gameplay and the more modern graphics seen in Final Fantasy VII Remake for the battles. Worth noting is that this is a gacha game too. So players can acquire a variety of characters from the FF VII franchise to use in their party.

The gacha mechanics also extend to things like gear and weapons. If you’re looking for an example of how the gameplay feels, look no further than Nier Reincarnation.
