Samsung is widely rolling out the One UI 5.1.1 update for its recent foldables in the US. The Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are all now getting this update stateside. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Flip will follow soon.
One UI 5.1.1 is the latest version of Samsung’s custom software experience on Galaxy devices. It debuted with the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series last month. The Korean firm began pushing the update to older foldables and tablets, which previously ran One UI 5.1, a couple of weeks back.
It has already released the One UI 5.1.1 update for all of its eligible foldables, dating back to the original Galaxy Z Flip from 2020 (the original Galaxy Fold isn’t eligible). The US versions of these devices also started getting the update shortly after the international release. However, the rollout was mostly limited to carrier-locked units.
In recent days, Samsung has widely released One UI 5.1.1 for its 2022 and 2021 foldables in the US. The update is now available for unlocked units of the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy Z Fold 3. The unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 3 is still awaiting the update, but the wait shouldn’t be much longer now.
If you’re using these foldables, One UI 5.1.1 comes with the following build numbers: F936USQU3DWH5 (carrier-locked) and F936U1UEU3DWH5 (unlocked) for the Galaxy Z Flod 4, F721USQU3DWH5 and F721U1UEU3DWH5 for the Galaxy Z Flip 4, F926USQU4GWH5 and F926U1UEU4GWH5 for the Galaxy Z Fold 3, and F711USQU5GWH3 for the carrier-locked Galaxy Z Flip 3.
Samsung will push One UI 5.1.1 to more Galaxy devices in the US
As said earlier, Samsung has already released One UI 5.1.1 for Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Flip in international markets. The update for these foldables will soon reach units in the US as well. The company will also push the new One UI version to its recent flagship and mid-range tablets, including some rugged models.
This update brings plenty of changes to Samsung devices. The Korean firm has improved app previews in the Recents screen and made it easier to switch from the pop-up view to the split screen. S Pen-compatible devices can also check previews of minimized apps by hovering the stylus pen above them. Additionally, the taskbar now shows more recent apps. Flex Mode now works with more apps too. You can refer to the official changelog for more details.
