Samsung pushes a new One UI 6.0 beta update for Galaxy S23

Samsung has released a new One UI 6.0 beta update for the Galaxy S23 series. The update is currently available to registered users in South Korea with the firmware build number ending with ZWH8 (baseband ending with BWH8). It’s seemingly a hotfix release to patch a critical bug present in the first beta build. The bug has been causing network reception issues for users on the KT network, the official changelog suggests (via Samsung Community).

Unless the original Android 14-based One UI 6.0 beta update has similar issues in other markets (Germany and the US) as well, Samsung may not push this update anywhere else. However, it shouldn’t be long before the company rolls out the second beta build of the latest One UI version. It’s not like the initial release is full of bugs or extremely unstable, but there are a few issues that break some functions. The next update should fix some of those issues if not all.

Samsung’s One UI 6.0 beta program will soon expand to more markets

After a few days of unexplained delay, Samsung finally opened the One UI 6.0 beta program for the Galaxy S23 series on Friday, August 11. It is currently enrolling beta testers in the aforementioned three countries (Germany, South Korea, and the US). However, the company has confirmed that it will soon open One UI 6.0 beta programs in China, India, Poland, and the UK as well.

If history is any indication, the second One UI 6.0 beta build will roll out as the first beta update in the latter four countries. Samsung will then keep the same schedule for registered Galaxy S23 users across all seven countries until it’s ready to push the stable update. The stable update is expected to arrive in a couple of months. The Galaxy S23 series should get it at the end of October if not earlier.

While there’s time to it, interested Galaxy S23 users living in any of these seven countries can sign up for One UI 6.0 beta using the Samsung Members app, which requires a free Samsung account. Open the app and look for a banner or notice about One UI 6.0. Tap on the banner and follow the on-screen instructions to register. Once done, you will receive the beta update like a regular OTA (over-the-air) update. Samsung may soon open beta programs for other models as well, including the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 foldables.
