Along with X, there are third-party platforms that offer their own take on the experience. X Pro (formerly known as TweetDeck) is one of them, and it gives users an enhanced social media experience. However, there’s bad news for people who want to use this service. If you want to use X Pro, you now need a Blue subscription, according to 9To5Google.
This is a bad stroke of luck for people who enjoyed this platform for free over the years. Using X Pro, you’re able to divide your screen into several columns of feeds. Say, you wanted to have your main feed on the screen at the same time as your notifications and lists. You can do that. It’s an augmented “X-perience” for those avid users of the platform.
This was a third-party platform separate from Twitter at first. However, back in 2011, Twitter purchased this platform because it was gaining massive popularity. Since Twitter wasn’t on a mad dash to become profitable back then, TweetDeck was able to remain free. However, fast forward to 2023, and the story is different.
X Pro now requires a blue subscription
X is now trying its darndest to bring in some profit, and this basically defines the platform nowadays. Because of that, the majority of X Pro users are now logging on to see that there’s now a paywall keeping them from the service. If you want to use X Pro going forward, you’ll need to have a Blue subscription.
That’s a major smack to the face of all the people who enjoyed this platform for free over the years. While that’s the case, it won’t come as a surprise to some people. X did announce this back on July 3rd. So, if you want to enjoy the enhanced capabilities of X Pro, you’d better get ready to pay $8/month.
