The Galaxy Xcover 7 might be a sturdier Galaxy A55

Along with the premium Galaxy S smartphones, Samsung also launches a collection of rugged phones under its Xcover line of phones. A new report from Galaxy Club (via SamMobile) just revealed some interesting information about the Galaxy Xcover 7. It could bear some similarities to another phone that’s coming from Samsung.

Speaking of Samsung’s rugged phones, if you’re looking for a sturdy phone in the Galaxy ecosystem, you should look into getting an Xcover 6. This is the latest Xcover phone that’s on the market at the moment. While it doesn’t have flagship hardware, it’s more than able to withstand a ton of abuse.

It’s water and dust-resistant, sturdily built, and gets the latest software updates from Samsung. You can pick up one of these phones through this Amazon link.

A new leak just revealed the Galaxy Xcover 7

Right now, we don’t know any of the specs of this phone. However, they might resemble the specs of another phone that’s slated to come from Samsung. The model number of the Galaxy Xcover 7 (SM-G556B) was revealed, and it’s extremely similar to the Galaxy A55’s model number (SM-A556B).

The Galaxy A55 is set to be the replacement for the Galaxy A54 which was released this year. This tells us that the company could be thinking of launching the Xcover 7 next year. It also tells us that this phone could have similar, if not identical, specs to the Galaxy A55.

As for the expected specs for this phone, this is going to be a mid-range device. So, we should expect a 1080p+ AMOLED display, 8GB of RAM, a mid-range processor, 128GB of storage, a 5000mAh battery, and moderately slow charging.

We’re not expecting this phone to come out any time soon. However, if you’re excited about Samsung’s next rugged phone, then you have something to look forward to.
