Logitech announced two new gaming products today, one of which is the new Pro X Superlight 2 gaming mouse (the other was the new Pro X TKL Lightspeed keyboard). A mouse so light you might almost forget that you’re holding it in your hands and zipping it across your mat. This has been my main mouse all weekend-long for near unhealthy levels of Starfield early access gaming. And at times, it was easy to get lost in the fact that this was just a mouse and not an extension of my starship.
The point, is that Logitech has created an insanely light gaming mouse here. And if you value low weight in your mice, Logitech has you dialed in. At 60 grams the Pro X Superlight 2 feels lighter than air. Teetering on almost too light for my taste. Though I quickly got over that the more time I spent with it.
The Pro X Superlight 2 values speed and simplicity
It’s not an overly complicated mouse. As it keeps things simple with just a handful of buttons. There’s two buttons on the left side for your thumb and then the left and right click. In addition to the scroll wheel which you can also click for a 5th button. And that’s it. It’s a far cry from my usual go-to. Razer’s Naga Pro with what some would consider an unwieldly 12 side buttons, a scroll wheel that clicks not only inwards but also to the left and right, the left and right mouse click, and two more additional buttons behind the scroll wheel.
From the sheer amount of buttons alone the Naga Pro seems like an ungainly beast. The Pro X Superlight 2 is the opposite. It’s only concerned with helping you whip your reticle across the screen to help you click heads. This simplicity of course isn’t representative of the mouse’s advancements. In fact, this is Logitech’s most advanced mouse ever. Thanks to technology like the Lightforce Hybrid switches, the Hero 2 sensor for lightning fast tracking at 500 inches a second, and Logitech’s first-ever 2kHz max report rate.
When it comes to battery life, Logitech says it’ll last for up to 95 hours. And That’s basically right on the money. At $159, this isn’t the most affordable lightweight gaming mouse on the market. But, you might be hard-pressed to find one that’s better. Like the Pro X TKL Lightspeed keyboard, the Pro X Superlight 2 comes in Black, White, and Pink colorways and can be picked it up from Amazon, or directly from Logitech. It’ll also eventually be available at Best Buy.
