Galaxy S24 Ultra could bring massive gaming performance boost

Samsung‘s Galaxy S24 series is starting to take shape, literally. We recently saw all three models in leaked renders, confirming their design, shape, and size. Earlier leaks have also revealed details about some of their internal components. It appears the Korean firm has a gaming powerhouse in the making, particularly the Ultra model.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra will be a gaming powerhouse

Samsung shipped the Galaxy S23 series with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy processor globally. While the entire lineup offers exceptional all-round performance, including gaming, the Ultra model comes out as the best Android phone of the year. It even outperformed the newly launched iPhone 15 Pro Max in graphics tests.

Next year, Samsung is rumored to ship the Galaxy S24 Ultra with a much improved Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy processor globally (the other two models may arrive with the Exynos 2400 in some markets). The upcoming Qualcomm chipset was recently put through Geekbench 6’s GPU compute test (Vulkan). It scored over 15,000 points, 60 percent higher than the previous-gen chipset (around 9,000 points).

These scores tell you that the graphics performance of Samsung’s Ultra flagship is in for a big improvement next year. Even if the early test figures don’t translate into the real-world performance of the end product, you can certainly expect a notable boost. Considering that the Galaxy S23 Ultra is already among the best gaming phones of 2023, its successor appears on track to raise the bar to a new height.

Samsung needs to ensure that the Exynos 2400 is up to the mark

The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ may get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy in the US, Canada, and China, but the phones could ship with the Exynos 2400 in the rest of the world. If these rumors turn out to be accurate, Samsung needs to ensure that its next-gen in-house chipset is up to the mark. It would be terrible for the company’s reputation if the chip underperforms the Snapdragon counterpart.

Rumors are that the Galaxy S24 series will arrive a couple of weeks earlier than the Galaxy S23. We are expecting a mid-January release of the new flagships. Leaks about the devices should soon get more details and frequency. We will keep you posted accordingly. Meanwhile, Samsung has a bunch of other devices lined up for launch later this week. The Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Tab S9 FE, Galaxy Buds FE, and Galaxy Tab A9 will all break over the next few days.
