Google launches an app to help you when your Pixel is having issues

The Google Pixel devices are great pieces of hardware, but they’re still just as susceptible to having issues as any other phone. This is something that Google understands, and it launched an app to help you out if you run into some bumps. According to 9To5Google, It’s called Pixel Troubleshooting, and it could help you if your battery is draining quickly.

Speaking of Pixel phones, the new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are now official, and you can place your order for these phones. They both come with the latest Google Tensor chip, additional AI features, the latest version of Android, and many more features, so they’re worth the upgrade.

The Pixel 8 starts at $699, and the Pixel 8 Pro starts at $999. Click the links below to put in your order.

The Pixel Troubleshooting app will help you if your phone is having issues

This app is new, but it’s not as new as most people think. Google launched this app quietly back in late September. Then, it updated the app on October 4th when it launched the Pixel 8 series. So, it’s a few weeks old at this point.

When you open the app, you’ll choose the issue that you’re having with your phone. The list includes issues like: Battery draining too quickly, Phone is very warm, Issues with charging, and Other issues. When you select one of the problems, the app will give you some suggestions on how to solve it.

In the screenshots, we see what the app does when you tap on the first option. If you select that your phone is getting too hot, it will show you what you can do to help reduce the heat. We also see a screenshot of the options you see when you tap on the “Battery draining too quickly” button.

Each section will give you tips on fixing the issues that are present. However, if there are issues that you won’t be able to fix on your own, the Pixel Troubleshooting app will give you an option to quickly contact support.

Availability

Right now, this app is only available for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. What’s odd is that it won’t behave like a standalone app. Rather, it will be integrated into the Settings. You’ll access the battery troubleshooting section in the battery section of the settings. There’s also a section that will let you troubleshoot your mobile connection in the Network & Internet section.

We’re not sure when, but we’re certain that Google will distribute this app to older Pixel phones as time goes on.
