The Google Pixel Watch 2 will allegedly come with automatic workout tracking according to a new leak. If the details are accurate, then this will be yet another improvement slated for Google’s second-generation Pixel Watch device. Automatic tracking was something that was unfortunately not present for the first Pixel Watch, but with the Pixel Watch 2 users won’t have to worry so much about starting the tracking features on their own.
It seems like such a simple addition. And even though it is just a small change, it’ll undoubtedly make the lives of users a lot easier. Being that there will be one less step to initiate for tracking your workouts. The leak, posted by Kamila Wojciechowska on X (via 9To5Google), the Pixel Watch 2 will pick up on your workout type shortly after you start it. You can then tap the button for it to start tracking or hit a button that says “dismiss” if you don’t want to track the workout.
Automatic tracking on Pixel Watch 2 should cover a wider range of workouts
The biggest part of this improvement is that the watch will know when you start working out and begin tracking it right then and there. But it should also come with benefits of pausing the workout when you stop. So if you’re automatically tracked workout is running, the moment you start to walk it should pause the workout. The same goes for it the workout is cycling or anything else. As this is how it works on every other watch.
The leak also mentions that auto tracking will get information such as pace, heart rate, and laps. Leaving users more time to “focus on improving.” Additionally, the leak mentions various other details about the device. Including the watch’s 24-hour battery life and a more close up look at the new sensors.
