Google posted the latest Android security bulletin with no OTA

People want to make sure that their phone is secure, and this is why they install all of the latest software updates. Also, they keep up to date with the latest information regarding Android security. For those who are concerned, Google just released the October Android security bulletin. It’s rather odd that the company sent out the bulletin but didn’t give us an OTA.

The security bulletin details all of the information regarding the latest security patch going to Android. It clues people into the vulnerabilities that are affecting the Android OS.

Google released the October Android security bulletin but not the OTA

It’s the beginning of October, and we’re all waiting for Google to release the latest security update for Pixel phones. The company tries to send out the update toward the beginning of each month. However, Samsung, over the past couple of months, has been beating Google to the punch and releasing its updates before Google.

Today, Google just released the official October 2023 Android security bulletin. It details a lot of information regarding what the update is going to fix. We see a long list of vulnerabilities that are going to be fixed. This is good, as there are a number of them marked as critical. Vulnerabilities like these can grant bad actors access to your system if you’re unlucky.

We’re all still waiting for the company to send out the OTA. It’s only the second day of the month, so we shouldn’t be too worried. A few months ago, there was an issue that caused the update to be delayed nearly two weeks. So, a few days of waiting isn’t the biggest deal.

If you want to check to see if you have an update, it’s easy to do so. First, go to your settings and scroll down to the System section. There, tap on the Update button. On the resulting page, tap on the Search button at the bottom of the screen. When your phone finds the update, you’ll be able to install it.
