Nintendo held its most recent Nintendo Direct livestream this week and during the show, it announced a slew of upcoming games for the Switch, including Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection. The Direct livestream was all about third-party publishers. So there were no announcements from Nintendo about first-party releases. That being said, there were some potentially exciting game reveals, depending on what your interests are. For instance, one of the games that was revealed was one of the games coming from Xbox, Grounded.
As for Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection, the games are being developed by Aspyr Media who also handles the ports for some of the Star Wars games on Android and iOS. These are the original games but they do come with some content that wasn’t available alongside their original releases. In particular, Kit Fisto will be a playable character. As noted by GamesRadar, Kit Fisto was exclusive to Xbox consoles when the game launched way back in 2004.
But Nintendo Switch owners won’t have to deal with not playing him again because he’s included this time around. In addition to Kit Fisto, Asajj Ventress will also be a playable hero.
Star Wars: Battlefront Classics launches on Nintendo Switch on March 14
If you’re looking to relive the magic of these games, you can do so starting on March 14. That’s just over two weeks away so it won’t be long now. You can however prepare yourself and pre-order them right now if you’re so inclined. The collection comes with both the first and second game and if you pre-order early enough you can pick the games up on sale. The collection will regularly cost $35 but it’s on sale right now for $31.50. To get the games at this price though, you’ll need to pre-order from the eshop by March 13 at 11:59pm PST.
In each game, you’ll be able to engage in massive 64-player online battles. They even support local split-screen should you want to battle a friend. If you don’t have a Nintendo Switch, don’t worry. The Classic Collection will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. So you’re not locked to Nintendo.
