The New Moto Tag is more than just a Bluetooth Tracker

Along with the Motorola Razr and Razr+ today, the company has also announced the Moto Tag. Motorola’s Bluetooth Tracker Tag works with Google’s Find My Device Network, joining many other options from Samsung and Pebblebee.

Just like similar trackers, the Moto Tag can be attached to your luggage, wallet, keys – virtually anything – to ensure your valuables are always within reach.

The Moto Tag does more than just keep your valuables in reach

While the Galaxy Tag, or the AirTag, is only used to keep your valuables within reach so you don’t lose your keys again, Motorola has taken things up a notch. Obviously, you can press the button on the tag to ring your phone in case you’ve misplaced it. But Motorola has also turned it into a remote camera shutter. This works on any Android device and is a really cool addition to what is otherwise just a tracking tag. So, you no longer need to set a timer to take a selfie with the rear cameras.

Much like with earbuds, the new Moto Tag is super simple to set up with Quick Pair. Once the Moto Tag is turned on and is near your smartphone, the Quick Pair page will pop up, allowing you to set up your new Tag. Motorola’s new Moto Tag app also includes many customizable options like changing tag names, adjusting alert volumes, checking battery life and much more.

Motorola says that the Moto Tag’s “sleek silhouette was designed specifically to fit perfectly with most third-party accessories that are already on the market”. So you can pick up a leather holder for your new Moto Tag and keep it on your luggage or keys with ease. The Moto Tag is rated at IP67, so it can withstand dust and dirt and can be immersed in up to one meter of water for up to 30 minutes. Lastly, it is powered by a replaceable CR2032 battery that the company says will last an entire year.
