Sony’s PS5 Slim console is normally a $500 piece of hardware, but it’s currently available at a rare discount in this deal over at Amazon. When we say rare discount, we mean the PS5 Slim is just usually never on sale. Save for maybe during the holiday shopping season, and a couple of other times per year. With that said, you can currently grab the PS5 Slim from Amazon for $449.
If you don’t already own a PS5 or maybe you want a second one for your partner or kids, this is the time to grab it. The PS5 Slim is mostly the same as the original PS5, save for a few notable upgrades and the very obvious change to the outside.
The slim model actually has a removable disc drive and that’s one of the big advantages of it. If you don’t want the disc drive on all the time, you can pop it off whenever you want, and store it away. Then you can pop it back on whenever you want to play one of your physical versions of a game. It’s pretty convenient really.
The PS5 Slim model also comes with a larger SSD that has 1TB of storage space. This means you get more room for games right out of the box. Of course, it still supports the expandable storage if you install an M.2 NVMe SSD as well. And there are constant sales going on for those making it really easy to get one for the PS5 these days.
It also uses a new vertical stand design from the original model, although, you don’t get the new stand with the console as it’s sold separately. It is nicer looking though.
