Genshin Impact is one of Hoyoverse’s biggest games and at least once a year it gets a giant patch that includes a literal mountain of content, and the next major patch of that size is v5.0.
These major patches tend to introduce players to an all-new region. They’re one of the biggest portions of the massive content drop. Featuring brand-new characters, new storylines, and a host of new monsters and quests. Genshin Impact’s new zone, Natlan, was officially announced back in late May. But at the time there wasn’t a release date for the content. Hoyoverse only mentioned that Natlan would be arriving with the game’s next huge update. As it turns out, that huge update is coming this month. Natlan will arrive with Genshin Impact v5.0 alongside a ton of other stuff for players to dive into.
In addition to the new Natlan region, v5.0 of Genshin Impact will also include new characters (both playable and NPC), and new banners to acquire past characters like Raiden Shogun, Maulani, and others. There will be new factions as well including Children of Echoes, Scions of the Canopy, and People of the Springs. Players will also get a bonus for Genshin Impact’s anniversary. If you’re an avid player of the game then you’ll want to keep an eye out for this bonus because it will probably be useful.
Genshin Impact v5.0 will arrive on August 28
There are just a couple more weeks before the big 5.0 update. As always, it’s recommended that if you’re still actively playing the game, you get caught up as much as you can. This will ensure you can enjoy the new content as soon as possible once it launches. Speaking of which, Genshin Impact’s 5.0 update will be arriving on August 28. Another thing to keep in mind is to watch for when servers will be going live. Hoyoverse should be pushing the pre-patch downloads for v5.0 here soon if it hasn’t already done so.
In terms of getting into the new content, or at least the new region of Natlan, there are some restrictions. If you want to unlock that region of the map, you’ll need to complete all the Archon quests on Mondstadt. On top of this, you need to be Adventure Rank 19. There’s an additional set of criteria for unlocking the Archon Quests for Natlan. Which is to complete all of Liuye’s Archon Quests and reach Adventure Rank 28. So if you aren’t anywhere near those requirements, you have some catching up to do.
Check out the new content through two new trailers
Even if you’re an avid Genshin Impact player, it’s easy to miss stuff. Case in point, there are two new Genshin Impact trailers to check out. One of them focuses on the upcoming v5.0 update and another is a glimpse of the new Natlan region specifically. You can check them both out below if you haven’t seen them yet. Genshin Impact v5.0 will be available for all platforms, including Android, iOS, PS4 and PS5, PC, and through services like GeForce NOW.
