In April, Google renamed the Discover card carousel section on its app to “Your Space.” Since then, the company has given it more importance by working on new cards with useful info for your day-to-day life. Now, a new leak suggests that a future Google Discover card will suggest movies and TV shows you might like.
It seems that Google wants to make “Your Space” a truly useful part of Discover and not just a gimmick. In addition to the rumored card for movies and TV shows, the company could implement a card with Sunrise and Sunset info. Google also rolled out a “Games with new content daily” card with interactive polls in late July. Discover already included cards with financial data, weather, sports scores, and air quality in your area.
“TV and Movies” card in development for Google Discover
As spotted by Android Authority in the latest Google app beta (v15.32.37.28), there’s a “TV and Movies” card in development. While the option is not visible by default, the source was able to enable it. According to the report, the card in question will show suggestions about upcoming movies or TV shows that you might like according to your profile.
The card in question brings together a summary of data related to the movie or TV show. It displays the title of the movie, its duration, a poster thumbnail, and where you can watch it (theater or streaming platforms). In its current state, the card is not functional for TV shows, but it will probably offer similar data for these as well.
Like all Google Discover cards, you will be able to disable the movie and TV show recommendations. You just have to go to the “Your Space” settings by swiping on the card carousel until you reach the last option. Lastly, it is not yet known when Google will start rolling out the new feature.
