Google and AI are pretty much one and the same at this point. The search giant is known for squeezing AI technology into pretty much all of its products, so should its earbuds be any different? Here are the AI features you’ll get with the new Pixel Buds Pro 2.
That’s right, Google just held its latest hardware event in August and not in October. Today, the company just announced a bunch of devices that Pixel fans will love. It announced the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel Buds Pro 2, and Pixel Watch 3. Be sure to check out our coverage of this event if you’re curious about what Google has in store for us.
Here are the AI features in the Pixel Buds Pro 2
Google has come out with some impressive AI tools. However, it’s important to remember the Pixel Buds 2 Pro are rather small, so their features might be a bit underwhelming compared to the other AI features announced today.
In any case, Google installed the new Tensor A1 chip into these earbuds. This chip is what brings the AI functionality.
Starting off with Conversation Detection, these earbuds will make interacting with people less of a hassle. The AI on the earbuds will detect when you’re in a conversation. Once that happens, they will pause the content you’re listening to and enable Transparency mode. The first-generation Pixel Buds Pro can do this, but it’s better this time around.
Next, Google’s AI prowess will be better at canceling noise. Thanks to the AI on the Pixel Buds Pro 2, they’re able to cancel twice as much noise as the first-gen Pixel Buds Pro.
What’s probably the most significant AI feature is Gemini. We thought that it was impressive when Google added Gemini to its Pixel phones. Well, you’ll be able to access it right from your earbuds. This means that you’ll be able to perform certain tasks without needing to summon Gemini on your phone. It’s like having an assistant right on your earbuds.
This makes these some of the smartest earbuds on the market. The Pixel Buds 2 Pro will go on sale on September 26th, so there’s still quite a bit of time to wait. However, you can pre-order your pair starting today.
