Google is going to announce the new Pixel 9 series next week, but the leaky ship just keeps on leaking. Now we’re seeing that a Reddit user was able to bring up T-Mobile pricing for the Pixel 9 Pro on Google search. And well, some of these prices are mostly likely inaccurate.
The screenshot below shows that T-Mobile is pricing the Pixel 9 Pro XL 256GB and 512GB for the same $1,199. While we’ve heard that Google is going to be doing storage upgrades for free for pre-orders, these are supposedly MSRP numbers. So there’s no way the 256GB and 512GB models should have the same price. Which pretty much tells us that these are not accurate.
We have also seen leaks recently that point to the Pixel 9 Pro costing $999 (same as Pixel 8 Pro) and the Pixel 9 Pro XL costing $1,099, both for 128GB of storage. And Google typically charges $60 per 128GB of storage. So that means the 256GB Pixel 9 Pro XL should cost $1,159 and not $1,199. Of course, it is possible that T-Mobile is raising prices, as Verizon does typically do that as well.
For the Pixel 9 Pro, T-Mobile has it listed as $999. There are two entries in the screenshot, though it’s hard to tell if these are different colors, or different screen sizes.
Take this pricing info with a grain of salt
While these prices could be accurate for T-Mobile, I’d still urge you to take it with a grain of salt. And we’ll know pretty soon if these prices are accurate or not. Since August 13 is less than a week away.
It’s very likely that these are placeholders for the price. Companies tend to do this a lot, ahead of an official unveiling. So just keep that in mind here, as the Pixel 9 Pro will be around $1,000 for the 128GB models anyways. Basically, it’s not going to be cheap. We also don’t know what kind of promos Google will be doing for pre-orders yet either.
