Lenovo has come to CES again this year with a truckload of new products to show off. Including some that will definitely catch your attention, like the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable. That’s right, this is the rollable laptop that we saw leak ahead of CES.
The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable is more of a slideable, as the display doesn’t so much roll, but it slides up, providing you with a 16.7-inch display that is more of a square aspect ratio. Lenovo says that this gives users about 50% more screen space, at the push of a button.
This laptop is surprisingly pretty thin too. According to Lenovo, it’s about 3.72lbs. Comparing that to some of the competition, the Apple MacBook Pro 14 is 3.5lb, and the Dell XPS 14 is 3.7lbs. This means for about the same weight, you’re getting additional screen real estate. Not bad, Lenovo, not bad at all. And it’s far lighter than most gaming laptops.
With this rollable screen, Lenovo claims that it will enable better posture, reducing stress for professionals working long hours too. It also has Copilot+ PC built-in, along with other AI features like Lenovo AI Now and Cocreator from Paint which will help unleash user productivity and creativity.
ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable Specs
What about the specs of this laptop? Surely, Lenovo skimped on some specs to help keep the price lower, right? Nope. This is a beast of a laptop, to be quite honest. We’re looking at a stunning QHD resolution IPS panel here, with the Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor and Intel Arc Xe for graphics. Along with up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM, and up to 3TB of M.2 SSD storage. Additionally, there is plenty of ports with this laptop too. Including a Thunderbolt 4/USB 4 port, one USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, a 3-in-1 card reader, a combo audio jack, all of this is on the side of the machine. The rear adds two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, one HDMI 2.1 and HDMI 1.4 combo, along with an Ethernet port.
Lenovo has future-proofed this laptop a bit, by including support for WiFi 7. It does of course also have support for WiFi 6 and WiFi 6E.
On the audio side of things, it does have an audio jack as mentioned already, it also has two 5W speakers with Dolby Atmos support. Making for a really incredible media consumption device.
Lenovo says that the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable will go on sale in the first quarter of 2025, which means it’s right around the corner. It will start at $3,499.
