AH Real Deal: Samsung's Odyssey G9 gaming monitor drops to $770

When it comes to gaming monitors, few look as impressive as the Samsung Odyssey G9, and right now you can add this to your own setup for a pretty nice discount thanks to Amazon’s current deal on it.

It’s worth noting that this is the G95C model, as Samsung has several Odyssey G9 models available. It’s also worth noting that Samsung is selling this same model on its own website for $1,299.99. Amazon, however, has it on sale for $769.99. That is a pretty steep discount if we ever saw one.

The Odyssey G9 is a sprawling 49-inch ultrawide gaming monitor that really helps bring your games to life. With how wide it is and how much screen space there is, you can see a lot more of your games than you might have ever thought possible. Now this isn’t the OLED panel version but it still has excellent color reproduction with vibrant colors and deep blacks. It also comes with a Dual QHD resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate.

One of my favorite features, however, is the picture-by-picture mode. What’s really great about this feature is that it lets you split up the display into two equal halves. Each half can then display video from a different source. For example, you could plug your PS5 and your PC into the monitor, enable picture-by-picture mode, and then have the PS5 showing on one side and the PC on the other. It’s super useful if you want to watch videos or guides while you play a game.

Additionally, the monitor has a peak brightness of 1000 nits, and a decent ergonomic stand that doesn’t take up a whole lot of desk space.
