2025 is the year that Samsung overloads us with its phones. We’re getting an extra Galaxy S-series handset along with more foldables. We’ve been following rumors about a more affordable Galaxy Z Flip, and it looks like this leak just pretty much confirmed it. The model number for a mysterious phone popped up, and it might point to the Galaxy Z Flip FE.
While this information seems to have legs, we’ll need to remember that this is leaked information we’re dealing with. As such, you’ll want to take it with a grain of salt. More information will arise as time goes on. We’re sure that rumors and news will pick up relatively soon.
The possible model number for the Galaxy Z Flip FE was revealed
We can learn more from a phone’s model number than most people may think. Thankfully, the model number for a mysterious Samsung device was just revealed through @erenylmaz075 on X.com. According to the post, the model number F761BXXU0AYB1 popped up on a Samsung server.
Breaking down the number, the “F” points to it being a foldable phone. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 also have “F” in their model numbers. The same thing goes for the rest of Samsung’s foldables.
Next, let’s look at the “761“. Historically, the Z Flip model numbers would start with a “7” after the “F”. The pattern is as follows: Galaxy Z Flip (F700), Galaxy Z Flip 3 (F711), Galaxy Z Flip 4 (F721), Galaxy Z Flip 5 (F731), Galaxy Z Flip 6 (F741). Naturally, you’d expect the Galaxy Z Flip 7’s model number to start with F751.
The model number for the mystery device starts with F761. So, F751 could be reserved for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, and the FE version could have the F761 model number.
At the end of the model number, we see the letter “B”. This indicates that this phone will launch in Europe. That should come as no surprise, as Samsung has no reason to keep it from European users. We also see this with the (EUX) at the end of the model number.
What should we expect from this phone?
As for other information, we’re out of luck. At this point, what this phone will offer is anyone’s guess. Being an FE model, many of the cost-cutting measures that Samsung will employ will be invisible to the average user.
Maybe it won’t have the IP dust resistance. Maybe it won’t be quite as refined as the Galaxy Z Flip 7. One bit of information we have is that it could retain the same amazing screen we saw in the Galaxy Z Flip 6. So, that’s a good thing. Other than that, we’ll just have to wait.
