A dedicated Google Tasks website is now live

Google Tasks launched as a core G Suite product with a standalone application in 2018 for Android and iOS devices. It was also available in the right-hand side panel of Google Workspace apps on the web and in Google Calendar. Google introduced a significant redesign for the app in August last year, which brought a fresh look and updated functionality. Now, Google Tasks is available through a dedicated website.

Now you can use Google Tasks from its dedicated website

Earlier, you could use Google Tasks on the web directly through the Google Calendar’s web interface instead of using the top-right switcher. It was also available in the Workspace sidebar of Gmail, Drive, Docs, and other G Suite applications. Now, you can visit tasks.google.com to access and create all of your tasks on the web. It is available without a redirect to the Google Calendar app and has the same user interface, apart from the Tasks logo in the top-left corner of the website.

You can now create Tasks and Lists using the website

Google started rolling out the dedicated Google Tasks website in a gradual manner in recent weeks (after late January) and it’s now available globally. Google Tasks website has your device’s dark theme. There’s a dedicated button to create new Tasks in the top-left corner of the website. By clicking the button, you can create a new task by adding information like the title of the task, date and time, alarm repetition, description of the task, and adding it to a list.

You can see all your tasks in a list as side-by-side cards that you can rearrange in any way you want. There’s a button in the left sidebar to create a new list or manage the ones you created earlier. You can also mark important tasks by clicking the “Star” button that’s right next to the task’s card. You can hide the app’s navigation drawer and switch between All Tasks and Starred.

That said, whenever you create or edit new Tasks using the Google Tasks website, the application on your Android smartphone or iPhone will automatically synchronize them.
