The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is the world’s first tri-fold smartphone, and the device just got a global variant. Huawei announced its global model during an event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
That is not the only product that was announced, though. In addition to the Huawei Mate XT, Huawei also announced MatePad Pro 13.2 tablet, FreeArc earbuds, and Band 10 fitness tracker/watch.
The world’s first tri-fold smartphone, the Huawei Mate XT, gets a global variant
Needless to say, the Huawei Mate XT did manage to steal the spotlight. This phone just became the thinnest foldable device in global markets, when unfolded. It measures only 3.8mm when unfolded, while it’s 12.8mm thick when fully folded.
As many of you know, it has a 10.2-inch display when fully unfolded, but you have two other fold options with the device. You can get a 7.9-inch display, or a 6.4-inch one, depending on your needs. A single foldable display is used on the device, though.
Huawei also managed to include its Ultra Aperture XMAGE camera on the inside here, with a 10-size Adjustable PHysical Aperture. Three cameras sit here, main, ultrawide, and periscope telephoto units.
We’ve had the chance to use this phone for a short period of time last year, so here are some of our impressions. The Huawei Mate XT comes in black and red colors to Europe and Malaysia, and it’s priced at €3,499 in Europe.
Huawei also announced a tablet, open-ear earbuds, and a fitness band
The Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 is the company’s new tablet for global markets. It comes with some interesting accessories and a 13.2-inch Flexible OLED PaperMatte Display. Its brightness goes up to 1,000 nits, and a 2.8K resolution is also on offer.
The Huawei Smart Magnetic Keyboard also comes with the tablet, and it’s a very useful tool that serves not only as a case but gives you a powerful keyboard too. Huawei alos included Huawei Notes and GoPaint apps on the tablet.
There is a 10,100mAh battery included here too, while Huawei SuperCharge charging is also a part of the package. This tablet can be fully charged in only 65 minutes.
The Huawei FreeArc open-ear earbuds were also announced. These earbuds come with earhooks and are aimed towards sporty people, most of all. Huawei used a C-bridge design here.
These earbuds are Huawei’s first with IP57 water resistance
These are Huawei’s first earbuds to offer IP57 water resistance. The company used 0.7mm high-performance nickel-titanium here, to make them as comfortable as possible. They’re also covered in ultra-soft, skin-friendly liquid silicone, 81.5% of their body.
The Huawei FreeArc earbuds use a 17 x 12mm high-sensitivity driver unit, symmetrical acoustic structure, and deliver a dynamic bass algorithm, says the company.
And last, but not least, the Huawei Band 10. Huawei says that this fitness band delivers a “complete upgrade in holistic wellness, starting with sleep and emotional wellbeing”. It can analyze your daily routine, and provide sleep insights, actionable recommendations, and daily summaries.
Emotional Wellbeing Assistant is also a part of the package. The Huawei Band 10 is made out of “skin-friendly material”.
