Motorola Razr 60 Ultra name confirmed via certification

When you think of foldable phones, does Motorola come to mind? If you immediately thought of Samsung, we can’t say we blame you. The Samsung marketing machine and its budget are hard to beat. But if you’re looking for a foldable that’s easier on the wallet, Motorola is the brand for you. In fact, the company has a new lineup of foldables in the works. A sighting on the TDRA certification page confirmed the name of the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra.

Razr 60 Ultra name confirmed

Motorola will launch a new lineup of foldable phones this year. Based on last year’s models, we expect that the 2025 lineup will be known as the Razr 60 series. The TDRA certification page confirms the name of at least one of the models, the Razr 60 Ultra. However, for our readers in the US, it will be rebranded as the Razr+ (2025).

Recent benchmarks have shown that the Razr 60 Ultra will be a high-end flagship device. Based on the Geekbench results, the handset achieved a single-core score of 2,782 points and 8,457 points in multi-core. Also, judging from the renders of the phone, apart from the name, Motorola isn’t changing the design of the Razr 60 Ultra compared to its predecessor.

It is a bit of a shame in this regard. We would have liked to see a new design, but we suppose it’s a trade-off for a foldable phone that’s more affordable compared to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip series.

The Razr 50’s successor

The Motorola Razr 60 Ultra is the successor to last year’s Razr 50 Ultra. Honestly, this has got up quite excited. Unlike larger foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold series, we’re digging the Razr series’ form factor a lot more. It is a smartphone that can be folded into an even smaller, more compact device.

In this day and age where phones are only getting bigger, it’s nice to have a phone that’s a bit more manageable. Plus, unlike phones from competing brands, the Razr 50 Ultra was relatively affordable. We expect Motorola to at least to maintain the pricing for the Razr 60 Ultra.

In terms of specs, our exclusive report revealed that the Razr 60 Ultra will maintain the same 4-inch cover display. It will also keep the same 6.9-inch inner foldable display. This means that in terms of changes, we’re most likely looking at a new chipset in the form of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite. However, we’re not sure which variant it is.

Qualcomm debuted a new 7-core variant that is ever-so slightly slower, but it could also make it more affordable for handset makers. This is important for Motorola if they want to keep the Razr 60 Ultra price low.
