OPPO has decided to officially unbox the world’s thinnest foldable ahead of its launch. The device in question is, of course, the OPPO Find N5. The unboxing occurred in China, and the video you’re about to see is in Chinese.

OPPO has decided to unbox the world’s thinnest foldable phone ahead of its launch

You can check out that video below this paragraph, it has a duration of around 6 minutes. The main takeaway here is the phone’s design, which you’ll see plenty of in this video. In fact, you’ll see the phone in all three colors that will be available in China.

The device is shown in Misty White, Cosmic Black, and a purple color for which we still don’t know the official name. The first two models will come to global markets, that’s something OPPO already confirmed. The last one is the only one with vegan leather on the back, and that one will be exclusive to China.

This device will weigh only 229 grams

In this video, OPPO mentioned something else, the phone’s weight. The OPPO Find N5 will weigh 229 grams, which will make it only 2 grams heavier than the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which is a regular non-folding phone. That’s an impressive feat. It will also be only 3 grams heavier than the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

At this point ,we also know that the device will be 8.93mm thick when folded. That actually means that it will be only slightly thicker than many mainstream slab-format flagships, and lighter than, for example, the Vivo X100 Ultra.

OPPO also confirmed that the phone will offer great water resistance. It will come with IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 water resistance. It is rumored to come with a 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite chip too.

The OnePlus Open 2 is not happening in 2025

OnePlus confirmed yesterday that it won’t be announcing the OnePlus Open 2. The OPPO Find N5 was expected to get rebranded into the OnePlus Open 2, but that won’t be happening, it seems.
