Samsung tri-fold availability, display crease & more: Rumor

More information about Samsung’s first tri-fold smartphone has just surfaced, including availability, display crease info, and more. All of this comes from PandaFlash tipster, by the way.

Samsung’s tri-fold smartphone is coming, and its availability, display crease & more info surfaced

He claims that the device will be available in select markets only. That goes hand-in-hand with the previously leaked information, as the company won’t make a lot of these devices. It could end up making 200,000-300,000 units only.

The tipster also claims that the sides will be flat, the same as on the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is coming later this year. The display crease visibility will not be improved either, it will be on the same level as on the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Quite a few other foldables do a better job with that.

That tri-fold smartphone will also have the same camera ring design as the Galaxy Z Fold 7. That’s basically all the information that the tipster shared this time around.

A 6.49-inch cover display is expected

Based on previously-leaked info, we expect the device to have a 6.49-inch cover display. Yes, Samsung’s tri-fold will actually have two displays, not one, unlike the Huawei Mate XT. So, the main display should offer better protection.

Because of that, however, chances are it will be heavier than the Huawei Mate XT, and possibly thicker too. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is also tipped to have a 6.49-inch cover display, by the way.

Samsung teased the arrival of this smartphone during the first Unpacked event of the year, last month. No specific information was shared, though. It is expected to launch at some point this year, though, possibly even alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.

The Samsung Galaxy G Fold is one of the name options for the device. Nothing has been confirmed just yet, though, Samsung could go for a more exciting name, though.
