Summary: A new leak has listed several improvements that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 could receive. While there is nothing revolutionary in any aspect, the device aims to be more competitive compared to previous generations.
In recent years, Samsung has maintained a conservative approach to hardware improvements in its Galaxy devices. This has earned it criticism from fans, although it hasn’t been reflected in sales, as the success of the Galaxy S25 series shows. According to reports, the company will maintain a similar approach in its next-gen foldables. However, it’s possible that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 will feature numerous “small” improvements that, when combined, would make it a rather well-rounded device.
A new product doesn’t always need to integrate revolutionary features to be attractive. Sometimes, it’s enough for the manufacturer to refine the existing key features. That could happen with Samsung’s 2025 book-like foldable.
Leak reveals all the “small” improvements the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could receive in several areas
Tipster @TheGalox_ has shared on X/Twitter a list of the improvements that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 could bring. As you’ll see below, there’s nothing revolutionary about it. However, there are several “small” improvements that would make it a competitive and solid product.
According to the report, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will have larger screens. The internal foldable display could grow to 8 inches, while the external screen could be 6.5 inches. Samsung could also include an improved UDC (Under Display Camera) system. Thus, the handset could finally offer good-quality selfies when unfolded.
The next-gen Z Fold could boast a more resistant and durable structure. Samsung could integrate “new layers” to make the display stronger while reducing the crease. In turn, the phone could be thinner, boasting a thickness of only 4.5 mm when unfolded. The South Korean giant could even improve the foldable’s water and dust resistance.
The powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite in the “for Galaxy” (overclocked) edition will power the device. A larger VC (vapor chamber) cooling system could help maintain high performance for longer. The device could also offer a better photography experience thanks to a new 200MP sensor. This could be the first Z Fold to integrate a 200MP sensor since the launch of the lineup.
Other expected improvements for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 include more immersive haptic feedback and better-quality stereo speakers. Lastly, the device could run Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box.
Samsung is expected to announce its new foldable phones sometime in July alongside One UI 8. The company is also expected to launch the Galaxy Z Flip 7, although the affordable Galaxy Z Flip FE would arrive a few months later.
