Summary: Samsung is already rolling out the April 2025 security update for a few Galaxy devices. However, the company had not yet revealed what the new patch includes. Now, a new security bulletin from the company has offered more details.

While Samsung has been quite slow in rolling out One UI 7 for all its eligible devices, it typically delivers security patches on time each month. Of course, flagship smartphones are the first to receive them. Now, Samsung has finally detailed the fixes included in the latest April 2025 security update for Galaxy phones and tablets.

In some cases, Samsung’s security updates include new features or improvements of some kind. For example, in the past, the company has used these patches to integrate a better camera experience, improving image quality. However, for months now, security patches for Galaxy devices have focused solely on fixing vulnerabilities. The company was already busy developing One UI 7.

56 vulnerability fixes included in the latest April 2025 security update for Samsung devices

The April 2025 security update is no exception, as Samsung itself has disclosed. The latest security bulletin from the South Korean giant confirms that the new firmware includes 56 fixes for security holes. 42 of these fixes come from Google for the Android core. Among these, five are labeled as “Critical” and 37 are labeled as “High Priority.” It’s noteworthy that there are five other fixes from Google. However, these do not apply to Samsung products.

On the other hand, Samsung included nine fixes for vulnerabilities in its Galaxy products. Samsung designated one of these fixes as “Critical,” and another four as “High Priority.” There are also four fixes for “Moderate” vulnerabilities in Samsung’s hardware/software. The vulnerabilities fixed by Samsung targeted features such as the Sticker Center, clipboard, HDCP, Samsung Contacts, wireless download protocol for Galaxy Watches, input manager, and the Bluetooth pairing process for Galaxy Watches, as reported by SamMobile.

The Galaxy S25 series is already receiving the April 2025 security update. If you are a user of one of these handsets, you will likely receive a notification of availability soon. Anyway, you can always try a manual check under Settings > System > Updates.
